At the heart of our Group’s headquarters, within a dynamic international environment, we are seeking a Protective Category Manager (M/W) for a temporary position starting in July 2026 to cover a maternity leave.

The Protective Category Manager is responsible for developing the strategic vision and business associated with the helmet, goggle, pole, technical luggage, and protection categories for the Rossignol, Dynastar, Kerma, and Lange brands. He’s responsible for the medium-term strategic plans of the category.
Working with the Mountain Sport Equipment (MSE) Product Marketing Department, the Protective Business Unit Manager is responsible for new product development and international Go To Market (GTM) initiatives.

Your scope will include :
Brands: Rossignol, Kerma, Lange, Dynastar
Product Lines: Helmets, Goggles, Ski Poles, Bags, Accessories

Your missions will include :
Strategy & Business Management
  • In line with the Brand Strategic Roadmap, define and drive category strategy, including positioning, target consumers, and distribution channels
  • Lead the mid-term product roadmap planning
  • Own the Business Plan and ensure overall economic performance of the Business Unit (budget, sales, CAPEX, E&O management)
  • Drive product range efficiency (SKU optimization, lifecycle management, KPIs monitoring)
  • Collaborate closely with Purchasing and Supply teams
  • Monitor market trends, including competitors’ activities and innovations
  • Manage and prioritize the innovation pipeline
  • Develop and implement sustainability initiatives within the category, ensuring compliance with company programs (eg. Respect Program)
  • Oversee and enhance the end-to-end consumer experience (digital, retail, wholesale)

Category Management
  • Lead and develop the product development team (1 person)
  • Own the overall financial performance of the category
  • Define and manage pricing strategy, cost structure, and margin targets
  • Ensure consistency and quality of product content (PLM/PIM systems, product descriptions, USPs, technologies, visuals, etc.)
  • Drive product design and visual identity, ensuring alignment with brand strategy
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external stakeholders (including agencies and partners)
  • Ensure delivery of all projects in line with milestones, timelines, and budgets
  • Oversee and coordinate all category-related projects
  • Act as a category ambassador, presenting and representing the category during sales meetings and key account presentations

Your background :
  • Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Business, Management, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a consumer goods or sports industry environment
  • Strong understanding of product marketing, with solid knowledge of market dynamics and product lifecycles
  • Experience in business planning, budget creation and management, sales analysis, and forecasting (sales & margins)
  • Good understanding of financial drivers and profitability levers
  • Exposure to sales and/or purchasing is a strong advantage; experience with international suppliers is a plus
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes would be beneficial

Your skills :
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of rigor and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to coordinate and manage internal teams and external partners (including agencies and suppliers)
  • Creative mindset with a strong sense of innovation
  • Good listening skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent English is mandatory
